In the early '90s, prominent Vandoren users from the United States approached the company for a reed that could keep up with the forward-thinking American Jazz saxophone sound.
The answer came in 1993 with the introduction of Vandoren V16 Jazz Saxophone Reeds. Modeled from the celebrated JAVA design, V16 reeds have a thicker heart and tip along with an extended palette.
Once you’re warmed up, a V16 reed delivers a deep, focused sound with an added brilliance and a percussive nature.
