Our Limited Return/Exchange Policy

***IMPORTANT! Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer!***

Customers have 7 days from the date of purchase to return an item for a refund or exchange, excluding the following items:  sale items, gift cards, software products, or perishables such as newspapers or magazines.

To be eligible for a full refund, you must notify us within 7 days via email to receive an return authorization number from us.  We also must receive your item unused and in the same condition you received it, including the original packaging as well as proof of purchase.  There are certain situations where only partial refunds will be granted, such as books with obvious signs of use, opened CD’s, cassette tapes, records, etc., items not in its original condition (i.e. damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error).

In store returns:  You can bring the item to our store during normal business hours where we will examine the item and notify you of the approval or decline of your refund.  If you are approved, we will process your refund via the original payment method.  If the item was a gift and the receipt is marked as such, you’ll receive a gift card for the value of your return.  If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you at a later date, we will send the refund to the gift giver.  If you are declined, the item will be returned to you.

Ship us your returns:   If you cannot make it into our store, you can always ship the item back to us.  Please note the purchaser will be responsible for shipping costs, including items delivered via our free freight offer, which are non-refundable.

If you are approved for a refund, the cost of return shipping and original shipping (if applicable) will be deducted from your refund.   Since we cannot guarantee that we will receive the item you are wanting to return, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance, especially if you are shipping an item over $75.  Please ship the item to: Midlothian Music, 15645 South 94th Avenue, Orland Park IL 60462, United States.

Once we have received and inspected the item, we will then send you an email to notify you we are in receipt of your item and whether or not your refund has been approved or declined.  If you are approved, we will process your refund the same as stated in the “In Store Returns” section of this policy. If you have been declined, you will need to arrange for your item to be returned to you (i.e. shipping, payment, etc.).

Exchanges:  We will only replace items if they are defective or damaged through manufacturer processing.  Please follow the steps for In store or shipped returns.

Damaged Items:  In the event an item is damaged during the shipping process, please contact us immediately at 708-403-3733.  We will take full responsibility by ensuring the item is quickly picked up by the original shipper.

Late or missing refunds:  Every financial institutions has their own time frame for posting information.  Please contact your financial institution to learn of their posting policies.  If you haven’t received the refund and it has been at least a day past the institution’s deadline, please contact us at sales@midlothianmusic.com.
